Hi,

Safety at the club is THE most important aspect of our sport.

I know that we may sometime seem to be abrupt in our approach to it with some of our members.

This is with good reason though.

We need to protect the members and ultimately our sport from ANY potential accidents.

Also be aware that safety is EVERYONE'S responsibility and not just the Lincs HFT committee members.

If you see someone doing something that you consider to be unsafe or in contravention to the club rules please politely remind them of their mistake.

If we police ourselves and our membership in this way we can all enjoy our sport in a safe and friendly environment.

Many Thanks

Hi,

Just an update on our ongoing safety message to all participants at the club.

It has been brought to my attention that there has been a recent potential safety issue (addressed at the time) that we must highlight.

We must state that when people are shooting on the HFT course they can ONLY load their rifle when they are the shooter located at the peg.
It is not acceptable to load your rifle while waiting behind your partner who is currently shooting at the peg. You must wait until they have finished at the peg and it is your turn before you load.
This has potentially very serious consequences of standing over your shooting partner and potentially pointing a loaded rifle at them.
Also the practise of sighting over your shooting partner while standing behind them at not a good idea and should be considered unsafe gun handling.
The muzzle of any rifle should never cross any of you fellow shooters.

Please observe the photos in this section if you have any doubt about the correct method.

We will be giving a few safety talks during club events to reinforce the correct way to do things.
If you are ever in doubt, please ask one of the committee.
If you observe unsafe practise, please politely address the issue immediately and inform one of the committee.

Safety is everyone's responsibility and we should all be looking after each other. Never walk away and think, that is not my problem, you just made it so by ignoring it.

We currently have a 100% safety record and we would like to keep it that way.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope it goes to make people think a little about what they are doing.
